iOS App Bug Report Sample
A good iOS bug report tells you which screen the bug happened on, the exact steps that caused it, what was expected and what really happened, with a screenshot or video as proof. Below is an example of the format you receive from RealAppTest.
This is an illustrative example created to show the format. It is not a report from a real client app.

Bug 1: App crashes when camera permission is denied
Severity: Critical
Screen: Profile, then “Change photo”
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the app and sign in.
- Go to Profile and tap “Change photo”.
- Tap “Take photo”.
- On the iOS permission pop-up, tap “Don’t Allow”.
Expected result: A message explains that the camera is off and offers to open Settings.
Actual result: The app closes immediately.
Evidence: Screenshot and screen video attached (Pro and Max).
Bug 2: Keyboard hides the “Save” button
Severity: Major
Screen: Edit goal
Steps to reproduce:
- Open “Goals” and tap “Add goal”.
- Tap the “Target weight” field.
Expected result: The screen scrolls so the Save button stays visible.
Actual result: The keyboard covers the Save button and the screen does not scroll, so the goal cannot be saved.

Bug 3: Text is cut off on the settings screen
Severity: Minor
Screen: Settings
Steps to reproduce: Open Settings and read the “Notification preferences” row.
Expected result: The full label is visible.
Actual result: The label is cut off and shows “Notification prefer…”.
