iOS App Testing: Frequently Asked Questions

Here are clear answers to the questions developers ask before testing an iOS app with RealAppTest. If you do not find yours, message us on WhatsApp or email support@realapptest.com.

About the service

What is RealAppTest?
RealAppTest is an iOS app testing service. A professional tester goes through your app by hand on a real iPhone and sends you a detailed report, screenshots and, on Pro and Max, a screen video.

Is the testing manual or automated?
Manual. A person installs your build, taps through every screen, button and function, and writes down what happens.

Do you test on a real iPhone or a simulator?
On a real iPhone. Some bugs only appear on a physical device, such as memory problems, camera issues, network changes and real touch behavior.

Do you need my source code?
No. We only need a TestFlight invitation to your build.

Which apps can you test?
Any iOS app you can distribute through TestFlight, whether it was built natively or with a cross-platform framework such as Flutter or React Native.

Do you test Android apps?
No. RealAppTest focuses on iOS apps.

Getting started

How do I send you my app?
Choose a plan and pay with Stripe. Then invite us through TestFlight. Send the invitation to support@realapptest.com or message us on WhatsApp.

What should I include with the invitation?
If your app needs a login, send a working test account. If there are special features or steps we should check, add short notes in “What to Test”.

Does my build need to pass Beta App Review?
If you invite external testers in TestFlight, Apple may require the build to pass Beta App Review first. Make sure your build is ready and processed before you invite us.

What if my app needs a server or backend?
Keep it online and stable during the test. If the server is down, the tester cannot check those features.

Plans and payment

How much does it cost?
Starter is $10, Pro is $15 and Max is $25. It is one payment per app.

Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once per app for the plan you choose.

What is a test round?
A round is one full test of a build. After you fix the bugs and upload a new build, we test again. Starter includes one round, Pro up to 5, and Max unlimited until App Store approval.

Which plan should I choose?
Starter is a good fit to check a build once. Pro suits most developers who want to fix and re-test. Max is for apps that need support until Apple approves.

How do I pay?
Securely through Stripe.

Your report

What is in the report?
Each bug we find, the screen where it happened and the steps that led to it, with screenshots as evidence. Pro and Max also include a screen video.

How many screenshots do I get?
Starter includes four key screenshots. Pro and Max include a screenshot of every screen.

Will you fix the bugs for me?
No. We find and document them. You or your developer fix them, then send a new build for re-testing on Pro or Max.

App Store review

Do you guarantee App Store approval?
No. Only Apple decides that. We find bugs and broken flows before App Review does, and the Max plan keeps re-testing your fixes until your app is approved.

Can you help if my app was already rejected?
Yes. Send us the new build after your fixes and we will test it on a real iPhone. Pro and Max let you re-test after every fix.

Is this related to the Google Play 12 testers requirement?
No. Apple has no such rule. This service is about finding bugs before App Store review.
